Encrypted, portable workspaces · Open-source core

Resume your work anywhere. Let your agents work in it for you.

Every project gets an encrypted workspace that moves between your computer, your own servers and the cloud, and that any agent can join, on your terms.

Free · macOS 26 or later · Apple silicon

Built for agents with their own computers, like Grok Bot, ChatGPT Dots and Meta Muse.

● Ran the test 40 times: 8 failures, all on the second retry.

The retry delay comes from Date.now(), but the test's fake clock only advances on the first call. I changed api/retries.ts to take the clock as a parameter and updated the spec.

Close the laptop. Keep going.

One workspace, wherever you need it. Its files, history, tools and settings travel together, encrypted, and pick up exactly where you left off.

Your space. Any agent.

Bring the agents you already use. They connect to your workspace from wherever they run, do the work there, and leave it with you. Switch agents any time; your work stays put.

Continue my work

Hand your own agent the keyboard. It picks up your session in your project, drives the coding tools you started, and tells you what they're asking.

A lane of its own

Parallel or less trusted agents get their own lane and branch. They can't touch your files or sessions, and their results arrive as changes you review.

Only you hold the keys.

Your work is encrypted on your own device before it's saved anywhere. Wherever it's stored, nobody else can read it.

Encrypted before it leaves

Keys stay on your devices, with a recovery key only you keep.

Every save kept

Go back to any earlier point, from any machine.

Your servers, your storage

Run workspaces on machines you own and keep saves in your own bucket.

Open-source core

The runner, the in-workspace agent and the format are Apache-2.0. Read every line.

Get Portenv.

Your first workspace is ready in a few minutes. No account to create, no dashboards to learn, nothing to configure from a terminal.
